Paul Rochell, 28

Paul Rochell, a 28-year-old black man, was fatally shot Sunday, April 1, in the 1000 block of Western Avenue in Gramercy Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Rochell was discovered on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound about 9:40 p.m., said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

Authorities were called and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:56 p.m.

Winter had no other details about the shooting.
