Pedro Zamora, 53

Pedro Zamora, a 53-year-old Latino, was pronounced dead on Thursday, Aug. 16, after being found with a head wound near the corner of Atlantic Avenue and South Street in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records. The coroner listed his cause of death as blunt trauma to the head and ruled it a homicide. 

Long Beach police officers were called to the area about 8:45 p.m. regarding a man down, according to a department news release and coroner’s records. 

Zamora, who is homeless, was found lying in a vacant lot, according to coroner's records. He was pronounced dead at the scene at  8:53 p.m. 

Investigators don’t have any suspect information, according to the department news release.
