Plutarco Salguero Soriano, a 26-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Jan. 30, in the 800 block of North Hicks Avenue in East Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Authorities received a call about a shooting victim about 3:30 a.m., said sheriff's homicide Lt. J. Corina.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced Soriano dead at the scene. Coroner's records show he was shot several times.

Corina said detectives learned Soriano was shot at his home during a robbery. Another person was shot, but did not suffer life-threatening injuries, he said.

The assailant was described as a "male Hispanic adult, but there's no other information," Corina said.

[Updated Feb. 8, 12:30 p.m.: Last week, officials released a composite sketch of the assailant and a picture of a car similar to the getaway vehicle. Authorities said several witnesses disclosed that the car looked nearly exactly to the above van, except it had no rims and no license plates. Witnesses also described the vehicle as navy blue in color with one or three silver strips. The suspect vehicle could be older than the one in the photo.]
