Pomona man charged in grocery store parking lot killing

A Pomona man was charged Feb. 14 with murder in the killing of a 40-year-old man, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Prosecutors charged Jonathan Scott Marsh, 54, in the slaying of Matthew Todd Musick outside a grocery store last month. Marsh is being held on bail set at $2.5 million.

On Jan. 25, Pomona police found Musick stabbed to death in the parking lot of a Food For Less, according to Sgt. Brian Hagerty. In the weeks since the killing, police received several tips and eye-witness accounts which led to Marsh’s arrest on Feb. 9, Hagerty said.

Marsh is scheduled to return to court March 21 for an arraignment hearing. If convicted as charged, he could face up to 26 years to life in state prison.
