Quintell Jerome Foster, 23

Quintell Jerome Foster, a 23-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, March 7, near West El Segundo Boulevard and Figueroa Street in Harbor Gateway, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 9:40 p.m., Foster was a passenger in a dark-colored sedan driving north on Figueroa when he was struck by gunfire, said LAPD Det. Rick Gordon. The sedan Foster crashed into other cars.

Another person sitting in a separate vehicle near the scene was also struck by gunfire but is expected to survive.

Police do not yet have a description of a suspect or vehicle involved.

Foster was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:00 p.m., said Ed Winter, assistant chief of investigations for the coroner’s office.
