Quintin Pierre Holmes, 20

Quintin Pierre Holmes, a 20-year-old black man, was shot and killed Thursday, March 29, near West Adams Boulevard and South Palm Grove Avenue in West Adams, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 10 p.m., Holmes and two other people were walking north on South Palm Grove Avenue approaching West Adams Boulevard when a car passed, Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido said.

The car, described as a dark sedan, made a U-turn, and a person inside shot at the three people, Garrido said.

Holmes was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:03 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

No one else was injured in the shooting. Holmes was not a documented gang member, and detectives are investigating a motive for the killing.
