Rafael Marcos Bolanos, 36

Rafael Bolanos, a 36-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, Oct. 23, near Fulton Avenue and Victory Boulevard in Valley Glen, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Officers responded to a shooting call on Oct. 22 about 11:55 p.m., according to an Los Angeles Police Department news release. When authorities arrived, they found Bolanos outside of a pool hall lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics were called and Bolanos was taken to a local hospital where he later died, police said.

During the preliminary investigation, homicide detectives discovered that Bolanos was at the pool hall with a family member. Toward the end of the night, Bolanos exited the hall and the relative heard several gunshots. When the family member went outside, Bolanos was discovered injured on the ground.
