Ramon Gregory Requena, 20

Ramon Requena, a 20-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, March 13, in the 600 block of West Venice Way in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Requena was in front of an apartment building about 9 p.m. when he was approached by an unknown assailant and shot, Inglewood Police Sgt. Matthew Hart and Joe Bale of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said.

According to coroner's records, Requena was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:13 p.m. The incident appears to be a gang-related shooting, authorities said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Inglewood police homicide division at (310) 412-5246, or the 24-hour anonymous hotline, (888) 41-CRIME.

To all who read this...L.A Times loves to see Syscom3 get people in an uproar cuz it does there homicide report a favor...without these people commenting at Syscom3 there wouldn't be many comments...I have written comments to Syscom3 challenging him/her to come to the communities and put in some work...he/she has refused to respond and at times L.A Times has made sure that my comments were not published...it amazes me that Syscom3 gets away with some of the comments that he/she does but when I challenge this person my comments get blocked...so my suggestion to the many readers of this blog is to ignore this clown...the only word he/she knows is sociopath without knowing the interpretation of the word...this person is either working with L.A Times or is actually the real sociopath...any clown that seems to be on this blog as much as Syscom3 is obsessed with making others miserable...this persons comments come right out of a gangster fairytale book....if u call a person a soldier this person automatically believes that is a code for gangster...however if u were in tune with religion many Christians refer to themselves as soldiers form the Lord...are we gangsters as well?...one final point...Syscom3 rarely has anything negative to say about Caucasian that are murdered....he has been repeatedly asked about this and he will refer back to four times that he/she has responded...however one of the biggest blogs on the HR was Brian Caufield whonwas murder in his apartment in Sherman Oaks...he was selling WEED illegally out of residence and was killed during an attempted robbery...Syscom3 had not one comment of the hundreds that were made...Why is that?...only this person can explain that...@ Megan Garvey you may read this and decide not to publish this but I have this saved in my documents so I will continue to put this up until it leaks through....Syscom3 seek counseling and quit aggravating the grieving...this HR is intended to make responses but somehow ur comments are always negative and pointless...these people that are murdered regardless of their gang affiliation were human beings...the problem with heartless people such as yourself is that u see an opportunity to cause more chaos and u pounce on it...that is the sign of a sociopath...

@ syscom3, It's really sad that you have no humanity for these people trying to share memories of their loved one. If you didn't know this man and you don't have anything positive to add to the blog, why don't you keep your comments to yourself. My nephew (Drexeler Boyce) was just gunned down up the way from where this young man was murdered and he wasn't a gang member, which is an indicator to me that there is something seriously wrong in that neighborhood. It's really a tragedy that our youth are being senselessly murdered. The sad thing is the demons that are doing this don't realize the pain that they are causing the families of their victims. My nephew was an only child, went to church every Sunday. He was a high school graduate attending college trying to make something of himself. To this family, my family now sits where yours just sat... And possibly at the hands of the same person, may the lord keep you and bless you. Keep YoBoy memory alive!. Agape Love.

I do know that people do get shot for no reason. It might be hard for you to understand, but there are social paths that will gun you down for no reason except being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Ramon had a job at the Santa Monica Pier. Not too many gansters hold down real jobs. If you were walking down whittier blvd to pick up a antique or some other legitmate business and you got shot , would that make you a gangster. I am sure someone would assume you were baging becuase you got shot. My uncle got shot in a neighborhood that he was renovating. He was a real estate investor, did that make him a gangster? There are some exceptions to every rule. Not every kid growing up in the hood is in a gang. Just like the 2 year that got killed in the cross fire, I am sure that baby was'nt banging. You do get around, and maybe you are right 50% of the time.

Ramon and i met back in 2006.He kept trying to make me his gf.I wasnt (lol) having it until later in 2007 he sent me the sweetest message! When i was going thru it.Soon enough we started going out and found out,i new his mom threw my younger siblings.Attending the school she worked at.Later we fell kinda hard for one another agruing all the time lol...over"why i wouldnt pick up my phone" (lol)he worked so much I would begg my mom to pick him up and he would come to my house and would jus have the most craziest conversation and watch my favorite movie"THE NOTEBOOK" and he was jus talk about it. We would hang at the park by his house during my families bbqs...As time passed we decided we were better off as friends.As we became just friends we grew apart until, we got back in touch and
he told me was lil girl on the way.And i told him `bout my two little boys..
From there we became close again and he told me about his gf!He told me how he cherished her and her belly but just couldnt stand the mode swings (lol) and i told him like"hey its part of pregnancy and your not a girl so u dont kno wat it feels like to b bigger then b4" all he said,"well i love it i dont know why you girls trip off that"(lol).All i could do was laugh...
Ramon i will truly,miss you and our talks!i promise you that i will never forget you no matter! i love ya loser..
my heart goes out his family!! To his wife never feel alone with your little girl because Ramon is right there with you even tho u cant see him doesnt mean he isnt there....Your going to do a GREAT job as a MOMMY!
