Raul Avalos-Pantoja, 31

Raul Avalos-Pantoja, a 31-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, July 20, in the 900 block of East 87th Place in Green Meadows, according to Los Angeles County medical examiner-coroner records.

About 10 a.m., Avalos-Pantoja was inside his home when two men walked into the backyard looking for him, said Los Angeles police Det. Nathan Kouri.

The two men then walked into the house and shot him, Kouri said.

Avalos-Pantoja was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:31 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Detectives are looking for witnesses, and the motive remains unclear.
