Raul Sanchez Jr., 30

Raul Sanchez Jr., a 30-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Friday, June 9, in the 2800 block of Camulos Place in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 11:10 p.m., Sanchez was walking to his car after visiting a friend when a person approached him, Los Angeles Police Det. Jose Ramirez said.

Words were exchanged, and the person pulled out a gun and shot Sanchez in a parking lot.

Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:25 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

It’s unknown whether the gunman, who fled on foot, and Sanchez knew each other, but police think the shooting is gang-related.

The shooter is described only as a man 25 to 30 years old, Ramirez said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ramirez at (323) 342-8960. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
