Raul Verduzco, 22

Raul Verduzco, a 22-year-old Latino, died Monday, May 14, two days after he was shot in the 11900 block of Saticoy Street in Sun Valley, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Verduzco was riding in a car May 12 about 10:30 p.m. when an unknown vehicle pulled up alongside him and an occupant or occupants inside the vehicle began firing.

Authorities were called and the victim was taken to a hospital in Mission Hills where he died two days later.

According to coroner's records, Verduzco died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Winter had no other details about the case.
