A story for every victim

Ray Anthony Magee Jr., 24

Ray Anthony Magee Jr., a 24-year-old Black man, was shot and killed Tuesday, May 26, in the 1500 block of North Lake Avenue in Pasadena, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.

Shortly after 4 p.m., officers from the Pasadena Police Department responded to a call of a shooting and found Magee with gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the department.

Magee had been riding in a black Toyota Camry with another man when he was shot, police said.

Magee, of Duarte, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. A 23-year-old man was also shot but survived.

Police discovered surveillance video that shows the vehicle believed to be involved in the killing, a silver 2017 Dodge Charger with tinted windows. The car was last seen driving south on North Lake Avenue.

Police said the killing could be connected to a feud between a local Pasadena gang and a gang from Duarte.
