Ray Henderson, 30

Ray Henderson, a 30-year-old black man, died Sunday, July 8, after being shot in the 7600 block of Compton Avenue in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Henderson was driving near the 1500 block of East Florence Avenue about 4:45 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up next to his and someone opened fire, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim managed to drive about two blocks before losing consciousness and crashing his vehicle in the 7600 block of Compton Avenue, Sheriff’s Department spokesman Anthony Moore said. No other motorists were hurt.
