Raymond Estrada, 31

Raymond Estrada, a 31-year-old man of mixed Latino and black ancestry, was shot on a porch where he was sleeping. It happened in the 200 block of East 75th Street at about 5:15 a.m. Sunday, July 22, in LAPD's 77th Street Division.

Estrada had spent time in prison, had a history of assaults, and police had documented his involvement with a small local gang. His attackers walked up and shot him. His family, including his 8-month-old son, was nearby. He was taken to California Hospital, where he died.
