Raymond Leonard Vasquez, a 22-year-old white male, died Friday, May 24, after being shot in Baldwin Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

I knew Raymond through his cousins that lived in my building. He was just a lil kid way back then. I thought for sure he was one of the kids that would get to grow up and make it outta this terrible city and it's gang infested lifestyle. He was always respectful and pleasant to my family and I. Truly saddened that yet again this non sense claims the lives of someone that never deserved to be lost like that. To Raymond's family and friends I sent up many prayers over the years and urge everyone to stop all this violence and come together to make the world a better and more peaceful place for the youth coming up in the crossfire. Please make your children aware of the nonsense and danger that is plaguing our community and society as a whole. Raymond didn't have to die in vain. He deserves us all to try harder

Hi my names is Bianca. Raymond and I both shared a wonderful relationship together. We were child hood friends, our families knew each other. We got together when I was high school. We got through our ups and downs. And in 2010 we had our beautiful daughter in the month of June. He would always come see her everyday he would take her out to McDonalds or to Target and other stores, and when he came they would play outside, they would color, she loved him very much. I remember the day I found he had been shot I was on my way to my mother's house for the weekend, when I got there I practically was trying to get to him but I couldn’t they wouldn’t let me. Friends and family were there and they couldn't believe it. I was so sad and emotional, I couldn’t believe that he was gone. When we went to say our last goodbye, I always remember what she did. She kissed her daddy for the last time and she’ll never get to kiss or hug or see him anymore. She said “Daddy is cold. Wake up daddy.” and I said to her “He's sleeping.” When he passed it was a month before her birthday in June. She was waiting for him to come, but all I could tell her that her daddy Raymond was sleeping. Till this day I miss him so much and he will always have a special place in my heart always. And I still can’t believe he's gone. As of today he would miss out on everything she is doing. But I know he’s in heaven resting and watching over her everyday as she grows.

I just want to know the people that did this why would they take my daughter's father away when she was only 3yrs old.
