Reginald Austin Ross, 42
Reginald Austin Ross, a 42-year-old black man, died of a gunshot wound on Monday, June 10, in the 400 block of West 55th Street in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.
Ross was standing in front of a home when he got into an argument and was shot by an unknown gunman, said LAPD Det. Sal LaBarbera. Chris Purnell Stephens, a 27-year-old black man, was also killed in the shooting.
Detectives believe the shooting was related to a gang dispute, LaBarbera said. Ross was taken to a hospital, where died at 11:30 p.m., said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner’s office.
