This is in regards to the wonderful work that the L.A. times homicide continues to do, they constantly provide the world with information that is true correct and interesting, this is how i have found many stories about friends and family and what goes on in my home town of Los Angeles, they are the ones that helped me with information regarding my own son Robert Abitia's death, L.A Times homicide provided me with the truth of the cause of his death by returning my call immediately after i contacted them and called the corner for me, called me back with the information I so much needed, I Thank you for being so sensitive and helpful on this case, i continue to read the stories and i am a huge fan of LA Times homicide I thank you for all your hard work Sincerely, Rebecca Diaz Cobarrubias, mother of Robert 07/02/1973-10/28/2007 Rest with the angels, son.......

somebody wants to know the circumstances of my son Roberts death, my son was shot in a drive by shooting which left him a quadraplygic, and he lived like that for 7 yrs. and was doing quite good,actually, but than from one day to the next he just died, well when its a case like that the corner writes homicde because of the shooting he ultimatlly dies, and thats all I was told than as a fluke I was reading this website and came across this page with Roberts name so I contacted La. Times Homicide and explained to them what actually happened and the very next day I recieved a call from a wonerful lady from LA Times and she called the corner for me and got the answer directly from the corner and than called me and told me the exact cause of death was actually overdose which I already had a gut feeling and she confirmed my suspicions, so that is what happened so again thank you La Times Homicide and thank you who ever wrote and wanted to know how he died, now I have peace of mind because it drives you insane not knowing how your loved one died I was having nightmares, and it was eating me up not knowing so that is the story of my son Roberts death so thank you for asking Rebecca cobarrubias

ROBERT ABITIA WAS MY SON,AND WHAT A WONDERFUL PERSON, SO GENEROUS, AND SUCH A WONDERFUL FATHER TO EMILY & MELANIE, THEY MISS HIM SO MUCH, HE WAS MY ONLY CHILD SO, BASICLY I'M TOTALLY LOST AND DEVESTATED WITHOUT HIM THERES NOT ONE DAY THAT I DON'T THINK ABOUT HIM HE WAS MY LIFE, AND I REALLY WANT TO THANK, LOS ANGELES TIMES (HOMICIDE) FOR HELPING ME AND GIVING ME THE ANSWERS THAT I SO MUCH NEEDED, I'M SORRY BUT I CANT REMEMBER THE LADY THAT HELPED ME, HER NAME, BUT SHE VARIFIED MY SUSPESIONS, PEOPLE SAY TO GO WITH YOUR GUT FEELINGS WELL I WAS RIGHT, BUT I WANT TO THANK L.A.TIMES, HOMICIDE, AND THE LADY THAT CALLED ME AND HELPED ME I WILL ALWAYS BE GREATFUL TO YOU FOR TAKING TIME OUT OF YOUR BUSY SCHEDUAL TO GIVE ME PEACE OF MIND, YOUR AWESOME SO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, ALWAYS IN YOUR DEPT.
