A story for every victim

Robert Marshall, 51

Robert Marshall, a 51-year-old black man, was stabbed and his throat was slashed by a man armed with a butcher knife on Nov. 17, 2008, after an argument on the sidewalk near the southwest corner of Flower Street and 41st Place, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Authorities said Marshall was able to run away before collapsing in front of 450 W. 41st Place shortly before 2 p.m. A blood-stained butcher knife was found at the crime scene, police said.

Two days after Marshall was killed, police asked the public for help in finding Frederick Taylor, 48, who they described as a suspect in the slaying.

Anyone with information is asked to contact South Bureau Homicide Division Dets. Rick Gordon or Brian Calicchia at (213) 485-1383.

[UPDATE] Police arrested Taylor Nov. 21, 2008 and he is being held at Men's Central Jail in lieu of $2.05 million bail, according to sheriff's records. His next scheduled court appearance is Feb. 19.
