Robert Rodwell, a 28-year-old black man, was shot several times on Wednesday, May 13, while pulling out of his driveway in the 1400 block of 105th Street in Westmont, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Rodwell was with his wife when someone approached their car and shot him several times, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials. The shooter fired without provocation, then ran off, authorities said.

Rodwell had just celebrated his daughter's seventh birthday. He was a drum instructor at George Washington Prep High School, according to KABC-TV Channel 7.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Department homicide bureau at 323-890-5500.

There is so much i could say about Robert but complaining about how he chose to live his life won't change what he has done. I am the mother to his last 3 sons before his death and am sadden that in this world of the internet my now older sons are able to Google their father and find out this type of information on him and having to explain to them his lifestyle to them which had them wondering why the papers say his wife when they know that we weren't married. Then also come to find out reading these comments that he had another potential daughter🤦🏼. Robert once had mentioned this girl might be his but does not look like him so he didn't claim her because Luara said someone else had claimed her daughter. Really don't care if she is or isn't because Laura won't come around to keep the kids together anyways like the 3 known baby mommas who attented is funeral respectfully and continue to keep in contact with eachother. Now Robert pride and joy is his daughter and gave most of his attention to her but did what he could for the rest. Yes he did have alot of girls but what guy don't💁🏼 although I thought I was his last girlfriend having his last 3 sons came find out I was sharing him with many. Sad but true and I wish his family would do more to be apart of their lives but struggle keeping their own together so whenever the time is right I guess that will happen. Also glad to say that the video of the newscast that was aired for his murder is gone I would hate for my sons to see another woman being shown as if he had a family with her being his side piece (Shadi) tryna show out for all the other women of his life. Rest easy RR life with you was a hard one but I thank you for the loving sons you left with me.
