Roberto Ignacio Gasca, a 29-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Monday, Sept. 10, in the 400 block of West Magnolia Street in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Gasca and three others were standing in an alley at the rear of an apartment when an unknown suspect walked up and opened fire before fleeing on foot, according to a Sheriff’s Department press release. 

Gasca was fatally shot in the face and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other victims, a 35-year-old and a 22-year-old Latino, were taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. They are expected to survive.

A fourth person involved in the shooting was not hit.

The shooting appears to be gang-related as one of the victims is a known gang member.
