Rolland Richard Miller, 44

Rolland Miller, a 44-year-old black man, was fatally shot Friday, July 1, in the 1700 block of West 22nd Street in Adams-Normandie, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Miller was shot in his home about 12:30 p.m. He was taken to a hospital where he died at 1:22 p.m.

The coroner's office had no additional details about the case.

Funny how people focus on the negative immediately and how women are quick to say they dated him, one said seven years, well try 24yrs off and on many mentioned gang banging selling drugs etc. And that's because most didn't know the core of this man. No one was there but he and I and God when rededicated his life to Christ in 2005 no mentioned why he prayed with his palms up and down, sure many dnt know. But it was because he said why pray with your hands closed or palms down when you are expecting something from God? You should pray palms up to receive the blessing God has in store for you, no matter what anyone says he was a believer and a man of faith. We all make mistakes. The bible states there is not a good man on earth who aways does good and never sins. God Bless the readers of this and his sisters chidren and many loved ones that he left behind

I came on this site to find info related to his murder, and to see if anyone was caught. After reading some of the comments made about him, my mouth is wide open in disbelief that a person would even post such negativity about a person after they are no longer here. I dated RICK for 7 years and of those 7 years overall he was an honest and genuine person. Everyone has faults, everyone has a past whether you become a better person or not, DEATH is never justifiable .......there's no coming back from that. And to use KARMA as a reason, just remember KARMA may be coming for you too. This man left a family, kids and friends that LOVED him and have to continue on without him so be mindful and respectful of what you say because everyone has a JUDGMENT day, including you!

@Bosko1 - Everything I said about Rocky would be said if he was still here. I was not disrespectful of him nor did I lie about him...so what's the issue? If you read my 2nd entry, I clearly stated he DID NOT deserve to be gunned down.

Based on your statement, it sounds like you're from 20's. If that is so, you should be well aware of the risks that are involved with bangin or hustlin or just being a black man in these L.A. streets. I'm sure you have seen many of your homeboys lost to these streets.

You could have known Rocky since the day he was born, that doesn't change any of the facts I stated. Rocky was a good dude. I never said otherwise but please don't try to act like he wasn't in an environment that leads to these types of things happening.

@Babs ---- Rocky was a blood from Rollin 20's but he was not out there 'gang bangin'. However, that street lifestyle (hustlin, bangin etc.) will almost always catch up with a person sooner or later.

He had changed certain things about himself but he was still involved in some things (hustlin) and that is how he ended up being murdered. He did not deserve to be gunned down but that is a real risk you take when hustlin in these streets.

Rocky was about promoting peace that is true. But just because he's never been to jail doesn't mean he didn't do things that could have put him in jail.
He had been lucky for a very long time and unfortunately his luck eventually ran out.
