Rosamaria Rees, 47
Rees was walking to her car on Ainsworth Street near West 135th Street about 9:05 p.m. “when an unknown suspect or suspects approached on foot and shot her,” said police spokesman Gregory Baek.
“The victim was pronounced dead at the scene,” Baek said. “The motive remains unknown and the suspects are still outstanding.”
In an interview, Rees’ husband, Allan Rees, 50, said the couple had worked together at his company, Allan Rees & Associates, which provides health services to disabled clients. Rosa Rees, he said, “worked with my nine Spanish-speaking clients.”
“Police told me there were no witnesses and that they have no leads at this time,” he added. “All we know is that a few people heard gunshots.”
