Ryan Helm, a 36-year-old white man, was shot and killed Sunday, May 30, in the 1000 block of Cherry Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Police responded to a call reporting gunfire about 4:08 a.m. and found Helm suffering from several gunshot wounds to the upper body, according to a Long Beach Police Department news release.
Helm was taken by paramedics to a local hospital where he died at 4:53 a.m., according to coroner's records.
Investigators had no information about the assailant, and a motive for the shooting remains unknown.
