Salvador Castellanos, 34

Salvador Castellanos, a 34-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Sunday, Sept. 16, in the 1200 block of East Golden Street in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

According to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Castellanos was shot following an argument in a family apartment about 8:40 p.m.

The 18-year-old suspect left the apartment, returned with a gun and shot Castellanos several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Castellanos’ preliminary coroner report indicates he sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

It was unclear if the suspect was related to others in the home, but the incident is believed to be gang-related, according to the Sheriff's Department report.
