Saul Zacarias, 25

Saul Zacarias, a 25-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Sunday, April 8, in the 14600 block of Friar Street in Van Nuys, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Zacarias was at an apartment with two men about 7:25 p.m. when they allegedly began passing a gun around to each other, according to an LAPD news release.

At some point, the gun went off and Zacarias was struck and killed. Coroner's records show the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the left eye.

Authorities said after the shooting, the two men attempted to dispose Zacarias' body by leaving it in a dumpster. Soon after, they were arrested near the scene and a weapon was recovered, police said.

Tito Diaz, a 43-year-old Latino, was arrested on suspicion of murder. William Jimenez, a 25-year-old Latino, was also apprehended and booked on being an accessory to murder.

Both men are scheduled to appear at the Van Nuys Municipal Court on May 31.
