Sergio Galvan, 18
Sergio Galvan, an 18-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, May 1, near Saticoy Street and Densmore Avenue in Van Nuys, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Galvan was walking along the street about 9:40 p.m. with two 32-year-old men, when a person exited a green SUV and yelled “something derogatory and began firing,” striking all three men, said Los Angeles police Det. Joel Price in an e-mail.
The three men ran to a nearby parking garage where Galvan collapsed.
He was pronounced dead at 10 p.m. at the scene, said Ed Winter, a coroner’s spokesman.
The two men were taken to local hospitals where they were treated and released.
