Sergio Alberto Hernandez Trejo, 26

Sergio Hernandez Trejo, a 26-year-old Latino, died from a single gunshot to the head Thursday, March 4, in the 2800 block of James M. Wood Boulevard in Westlake, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

In a Los Angeles Police Department release, detectives said Hernandez was using a payphone about 5:15  p.m. when an unknown assailant approached and shot him, then was driven away in a waiting black sedan.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at 5:35 p.m., said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office.

Both suspects were described as a male Latinos, 18 to 22 years of age.
