Shujaa Jasiri Silver, 19

Shujaa Jasiri Silver, a 19-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, Jan. 23, in the 8100 block of Avalon Boulevard in Hyde Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 8:15 p.m., Silver, Cyjai Bell, 16, and two others were standing outside of a liquor store when a male got out of a small or medium-size SUV and began to fire at the group with an assault rifle, said LAPD Det. Dave Garrido.

All four people were struck and taken to a hospital. Silver was pronounced dead at 8:33 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

The gunman ran back to the waiting SUV and fled south on Avalon Boulevard.
