Sidette Havron, 45

Sidette Havron, a 45-year-old Asian woman, was fatally shot in a murder-suicide Saturday, Sept. 23, in the 10 block of Keel Court in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records. 

About 10:45 a.m., Long Beach police responded to call about a domestic violence dispute. Officers found Havron and her husband, Wayne Havron, with gunshot wounds, according to a news release. 

The husband was pronounced dead at the scene, and Sidette Havron was taken to a hospital where she died at 11:37 a.m., according to coroner’s records. 

Sidette Havron's cause of death was ruled to be a homicide, according to coroner’s records; her husband’s death was ruled a suicide. The coroner's office confirmed that Wayne Havron, 53, shot himself and his wife. 

The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that one of its officers was involved in a “a tragic incident” in Long Beach while off-duty, but declined to identify Wayne Havron or offer more information.

Public records show that Havron was a fire captain who had been with the department for more than 20 years. 

“We are cooperating with law enforcement during their investigation, and we offer our sincerest condolences to the family of the victims,” the Fire Department said in a statement.
