Sigfredo Antonio Linares, 52

Sigfredo Linares, a 52-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Saturday, June 12, in the 900 block of West 55th Street in Vermont-Slauson, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Police responded to a call of shots fired about 10:46 p.m., said LAPD Det. David Ross. When officers arrived, they found Linares in the rear of his vehicle with several gunshot wounds, Ross said.

Linares was taken to California Hospital Medical Center, where he died at 11:10 p.m., according to coroner's records.

Investigators have leads on a possible suspect, Ross said, but he would not provide any further details about the case.
