Sigfredo Martin Arias Jr., 42

Sigfredo Martin Arias Jr., a 42-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, Feb. 1, in the 1300 block of West 2nd Street in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner Coroner’s records.

About 7 p.m., police responded to multiple calls of a traffic collision with shots fired in the area, according to a statement from the Pomona Police Department.

Officers arrived and discovered that a vehicle had crashed into a tree, police said.

Arias and another person were suffering from gunshot wounds and taken to a hospital. 

Arias was pronounced dead at 7:48 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

It’s unclear how Arias was shot. Police did not release additional information.
