Taylor Lyn Parks, 25

Taylor Lyn Parks, a 25-year-old black woman, died Wednesday, July 8, after she was stabbed in the 5500 block of Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records. 

The Long Beach Fire Department received a call about 11:20 p.m. on July 7 about an assault that injured a woman, according to a news release from the Long Beach Police Department. The Fire Department asked police officers to also respond to the call. 

When they arrived, officers found Parks unresponsive on the ground and began life-saving measures, according to the release. Paramedics took over once they arrived and transported Parks to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 12:16 a.m. on July 8, according to coroner’s records. 

Parks was stabbed in the upper torso, according to the news release.

Investigators learned that a black man was seen running from the area after the assault, according to the news release.
