Tekeisha Neely, 39

Tekeisha Neely, a 39-year-old black woman, was stabbed to death Sunday, July 1, in the 30 block of East Plymouth Street in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Authorities responded to an apartment complex about 1:10 p.m. and discovered that Neely had been stabbed in the upper body during some kind of dispute “between unknown parties,” according to a statement from the Long Beach Police Department.

Neely, of Long Beach, was pronounced dead at a hospital, police said.

"A motive is unclear; however, detectives believe there are individuals who may have witnessed the incident or have information regarding what occurred,” police said in the statement. “Investigators are hopeful that someone will come forward and the investigation remains ongoing,”
