Terrell Anthony Bryant, 33

 Terrell Anthony Bryant, a 33-year-old black man, was fatally shot on Sunday, Feb. 24, in the 1500 block of East Artesia Boulevard in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner records. 

Long Beach Police officers were called to Bryant's apartment around 12:30 a.m. after neighbors reported hearing gunshots, according to a department news release. 

When officers arrived, they found Bryant in his apartment with gunshot wounds in the upper torso. Paramedics were unable to revive him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:59 a.m., according to coroner's records. The cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds. 

Investigators also found a gun in the apartment, according to the release. 

A short time after officers arrived they arrested Bryant's roommate, Zaire Aram El, a 23-year-old black man, on suspicion of murder and an outstanding traffic warrant, according to the release. 

El was charged with murder on Feb. 26 and pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned on March 14, according to court records. His next hearing is set for April 16 in the Los Angeles County Superior Court's Gov. George Deukmejian Courthouse in Long Beach.
