A story for every victim

Terrell Anthony Butler, 27

Terrell Butler, a 27-year-old black man, was stabbed to death Sunday, Jan. 29, in the 13000 block of Dronfield Avenue in Sylmar, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County coroner's records.

About 5 p.m., a man identified by police as David Bird, a 20-year-old white man, went into an apartment complex and saw Butler there visiting with the mother of his child, said LAPD Det. Steve Castro.

Bird and Butler argued, then fought. Police believe Bird had a knife and stabbed Butler multiple times before fleeing.

Butler was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:48 p.m.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Bird, police said, but he has not been found yet. He was on parole for an assault-with-a-deadly-weapon conviction.

Anyone with information is asked to call Castro at (818) 374-1925. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
