Terrell Delano Bickhem, 43

Terrell Delano Bickhem, a 43-year-old black man, was shot and killed on Saturday, Aug. 5, in the 1500 block of West 113th Street in Westmont, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Bickhem and a friend were walking outside the friend’s house about midnight when a car stopped in the street and a man got out holding a gun, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza.

The man starting shooting at the two friends, striking Bickhem. The gunman then got back in the car and the driver sped east on West 113th Street, Mendoza said.

The friend was not injured, but Bickhem was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:10 a.m., according to coroner’s records. The cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds.

Mendoza said the suspects were described as two black men driving a white sedan.

Bickhem lived in the Gramercy Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles, not far from the shooting, and had some affiliation with local gangs, Mendoza said. Investigators believe the shooting may have been gang related.
