Terry Antwon Jones, 25

Terry Jones, a 25-year-old black man, was fatally shot Thursday, June 28, in the 44000 block of Beech Avenue in Lancaster, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

The shooting occurred about 9 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Jones and another man were arguing when he pulled out a handgun and shot Jones multiple times in the torso, killing him, according to a statement from sheriff’s officials.

A woman who was standing nearby was shot in the lower torso and sustained non life-threatening injuries, according to the statement. She was not related to the victim.

Homicide detectives were still trying to determine a motive for the killing.
