Times coverage: LAPD offers reward to capture serial killer
The LAPD this week renewed a $500,000 reward in hopes of capturing a serial killer who has terrorized L.A. County since the 1980s.
Known as the "Grim Sleeper," the man is known to have killed at least 11 people, 10 women and one man from 1985 to 2007, police said.
A surviving victim in 1988 described the killer as black, in his 20s, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, around 160 pounds, soft-spoken, articulate, with neatly trimmed hair and a pockmarked face.
