Tina Sanchez, 41

Tina Sanchez, a 41-year-old Latina, was found dead Thursday, April 15, in an alley near Crenshaw Boulevard and 73rd Street in Hyde Park, according to Los Angeles police officials.

Authorities received a call about 3:30 a.m. that morning from a man who said he had found a body in an alley, said LAPD Officer Bruce Borihanh.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Sanchez's body wrapped in blankets and a sleeping bag, authorities said.

In a preliminary report from the coroner's office, officials said Sanchez sustained a gunshot wound to the face.

Capt. Dennis Kato told KTLA it appeared the woman had been shot at a different location and then dumped in the alley.

Coroner's officials declined to provide additional information about her case, saying that police had requested a security hold on the information as they continued their investigation.
