Tomas J. Luna Gomez, 21

Tomas J. Luna Gomez, a 21-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, March 28, near Centinela Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard in Playa Vista, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Gomez was at a stoplight in his Dodge pickup truck about 8:15 p.m., when a sedan pulled up and a person inside opened fire, said LAPD Det. Dave Vinton.

After Gomez was shot, he crashed into the car in front of him, then fled to his home, near Slauson Avenue and Braddock Drive, where another person called 911.

Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:50 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
