Vada Faniel, 50

Vada Faniel, a 50-year-old black man, died Sunday, July 1, after being shot in the 5400 block of Apple Street in Mid-City, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Faniel was shot shortly after 10:50 p.m. and died an hour later at a hospital, said Ed Winter, assistant chief of the coroner's office.

Faniel was found lying in the street, bleeding heavily, police said, adding that they do not have a description of the suspect at this time.
