Victor Estuardo Arevalo, 40

Victor Estuardo Arevalo, a 40-year-old Latino, died Tuesday, May 10, years after being shot, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records. 

Arevalo became paraplegic after a 1993 gunshot to the abdomen. Police and family members did not know who shot Arevalo, but he was treated at a hospital. Over the next 20 years, he suffered complications from his injuries, coroner's records said.

On May 4, Arevalo went to a hospital because he felt dizzy. Once admitted, his condition worsened. He was pronounced dead May 10 at 10:25 p.m., according to coroner’s records. The death was ruled a homicide as a result of the gunshot wound.
