William Steed, 20

William Steed, a 20-year-old black man, died Tuesday, May 29, less than a year after he was shot in the 1700 block of West 120th Street in Athens, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Steed was shot several times July 12, 2011.

The victim was admitted to a hospital in Torrance due to his deteriorating health and died from complications related to the shooting May 29 at 11:18 a.m.

Winter had no other details about the case.
