Woman convicted in Pomona stabbing death
Erica A. Campbell, a 27-year-old black woman, was found guilty of second-degree murder according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
On Tuesday, Feb. 11, a West Covina jury found Campbell guilty in the stabbing death of Markeon Taylor.
Taylor died April 2, 2012, a day after he was stabbed in the chest during a heated argument at a residence in the 1000 block of Patterson Avenue in Pomona.
Campbell who was dating Taylor at the time of incident was arrested April 4 and charged with one count of murder.
At the time of his death, Taylor was residing in Tennessee but was in Southern California to attend the trial of those accused of killing his brother. Marquis Leblanc, 18, was killed in 2009 a little more than a mile away from where Taylor was slain.
Campbell is scheduled to be sentenced on Mar. 11, in Department 11 at the West Covina courthouse.
