Abrey Tony White, a 33-year-old black man, was fatally shot Monday, July 4, in the 6200 block of Harvard Boulevard in Harvard Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 12:15 p.m., White was standing at the southwest corner of Harvard Boulevard and West 62nd Street, across the street from Harvard Recreation Center, when a person walked up to him, pulled out a gun and fired multiple times, said Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido.

White was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:28 p.m., according to coroner’s records. The gunman ran to a nearby light-colored sedan, Garrido said.
