A story for every victim

Adrine Arzumanyan, 33 [Updated]

Adrine Arzumanyan, a 33-year-old Armenian woman, was found dead Friday, April 29, after her body was dumped near the La Crescenta Avenue exit on the westbound 210 Freeway in La Crescenta-Montrose, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Motorists reported seeing a man push Arzumanyan's body out of a car shortly before 5:45 p.m., police said. Authorities were called and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Coroner's records show she was shot several times.

The man, who was driving a black Honda, was stopped by Glendale police on the southbound 2 Freeway near the Mountain Avenue off-ramp. He was taken to a nearby hospital after police discovered that he was suffering from a gunshot wound. The man had shot himself in an attempted suicide, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

“There is a possibility that a witness saw some type of scuffle inside the vehicle as they were approaching La Crescenta [Avenue],” said Lt. Mike Rosson.“There was a vehicle that tried to pin in the suspect vehicle. The suspect brandished a firearm. Obviously the good Samaritan backed off.”

Police have not identified the Honda driver.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the sheriff's homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
