Alvir Ramirez, a 20-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, July 12, in the 14300 block of Pontlavoy in Norwalk, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

[Correction: An earlier version of this post incorrectly listed the incident address as being in the 200 block of West 23rd Street in Norwalk.]

Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Ramirez's brother had gotten into an argument with a person about 3:10 p.m.

Ramirez got involved in the confrontation with the same person and was shot.

After the shooting, the victim was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m.

Coroner's records show Ramirez suffered several gunshot wounds to his body.

Winter had no other details about the case.

His name is aldair Ramirez im his little brother. Angel baez A.K.A wolfey is a ******* liar he doesn't know anything at all what happen he was also locked up for stealing so he was never there . Just wanted to clear that up and also say thank you to those who commenting something positive. I know im a little late but i just realized this right know . My brother was going to be a great father. He was a great brother had my back and I always had his. I still haven't moved on from this I can't see myself ever from moving on . My family has really changed since this incident but what family wouldn't? Alot more anger, less communication, and distancing. I guess deep down they see me as something im not or trying to find away to forget when its not possible. I loved my brother he was my role model taught me everything I know. Looked up to him and he was never embarrassed to have his little brother next to him. A message to everyone one who has a brother , give him a call tell him you'll always have his back and give him a hug like it be the last time you'd see him because it could be your last .

this is a lie i was there ima tell u the truth ok.first alvir ramirez was mad because his sister adaly ramirez told him that my brother had hit her but he didnt. me and my friend had tried to stop her from hitting him. so thats when she went home and told her brother (alvir ramirez) and then alvir went to ramona park with a knife and alvir threaned my brother by telling him that he would shoot him or stab him so then. my brother left to but he was trieing to avoid the problem. then thats when alvir came to my house 14315 pontlavoy ave and he tried to stab my brother. my brother didnt do anything at all. my brother was a good kid trieing to get his education and trieing to be a tattoe artist when he is 18. thats the real story ok . my brother is jesse garcia
