Alvir Josue Ramirez, 20

Alvir Ramirez, a 20-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, July 12, in the 14300 block of Pontlavoy in Norwalk, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

[Correction: An earlier version of this post incorrectly listed the incident address as being in the 200 block of West 23rd Street in Norwalk.]

Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Ramirez's brother had gotten into an argument with a person about 3:10 p.m.

Ramirez got involved in the confrontation with the same person and was shot.

After the shooting, the victim was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m.

Coroner's records show Ramirez suffered several gunshot wounds to his body.

Winter had no other details about the case.
