Arturo Rodriguez, 27

Arturo Rodriguez, a 27-year-old Latino man, was fatally shot in the 900 block of Ericksen Drive in Pomona about 9:25 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. A coroner's report listed his time of death as 9:35 p.m.

According to police, officers with the Pomona Police Department were driving near the intersection of Orange Grove and Glen avenues when they heard gunfire. Soon after, two men armed with handguns were seen running west on Orange Grove Avenue. Officers chased after the men on foot.

At the same time, 911 dispatchers were receiving reports of shots fired at Ericksen Drive, a residential street off of Orange Grove Avenue. Officers responded to the location and discovered Rodriguez with gunshot wounds.

A perimeter was later set up with the assistance of officers from La Verne and Ontario, as well as sheriff's deputies from L.A. and San Bernardino counties. The search was called off after four hours, police said. The suspects are still at large, police said.
