A story for every victim

Bryan Hernandez, 19

Bryan Hernandez, a 19-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, June 30, in the 5900 block of Eastern Avenue in Commerce, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Hernandez was bicycling from work to his home in East Los Angeles when he was shot near Peachtree Street, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Holly Francisco.

Investigators have no suspect information. The incident was first reported as a possible hit and run, Francisco said, because the reporting party saw Hernandez by the road with his bicycle.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:10 a.m., coroner’s records said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Those wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
