Carlos Aguilar, 25

Carlos Aguilar, a 25-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, March 16, in the 12000 block of Lowemont Street in Norwalk, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 1:40 a.m. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area and found Aguilar on the sidewalk, said Lt. Holly Francisco.

Aguilar was standing in the street when he was shot, Francisco said, but it is unknown whether the gunman walked up or drove by.

Aguilar was pronounced dead at 2:01 a.m., said Ed Winter, a spokesman with the coroner’s office.

An autopsy showed that Aguilar died of a gunshot wound. Anyone with information can call the Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
